Linux/Solaris Administrator - Channel Stabilization


Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate, contract opportunity for a Linux/Solaris Administrator - Channel Stabilization to work for our highly-recognized client in the Charlotte, NC area.

General Responsibilities:

Provide UNIX System Administration for Linux and Solaris Servers running Veritas or Sun cluster technology with SAN attached storage.
Support enterprise-wide application implementations (Solaris, Apache, and WebLogic)
Performs system administration for other Unix operating systems if needed (AIX)
Serves as subject matter expert (SME) on systems problem resolution activities and tools.
Identifies and recommends process improvements to provide more effective troubleshooting of complex hardware and software problems.

Qualifications/Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree (MS) or technical institute degree/certificate in Computer Science or the equivalent combination of education, technical designations and work experience.
Must have at least 6 years of IT experience with experience across two IT areas or single operation area across multiple computing platforms
Must have at least 4 years of Unix Administration experience
Must have practical experience of project management disciplines.
