Skills Required fore Linux System Administrator

Successful candidate will use knowledge of servers, LAN and WAN to perform buildout, migration, and support of new server/service infrastructure. Candidate will facilitate technical buildout of infrastructure, including installation of Linux and associated packages. Candidate will install base operating system, patches, and activate selected packages. Candidate will serve as one of primary team members to execute migration plan after development. Candidate will perform remote steady state support of application infrastructure environment after migration.
Candidate should have skills in Prob Mgmt, Web Server, and Storage skills

Candidate should possess extensive experience with:

Service delivery processes, tools and procedures
Server management processes, tools and procedures
Extensive experience with Linux, OpenBSD, FreeBSD
Experience participating in data center transition projects
Experience implementing Servers and related products and technologies
Moderate experience with LAN and WAN networking and VLANs
Experience with SAN fabrics and SAN attached storage devices
Experience with backup and recovery software, techniques, and automated tape libraries
Experience with security policies, policy monitoring and intrusion detection
Experience with Linux server, SAN fabric, and storage performance tuning and capacity planning
Experience with NAS, Fiberchannel, and storage arrays
Experience with SMTP, Postfix, QMail, SPAM filtering, and other email technologies
Experience implementing virtualization technologies and executing consolidation methodologies
Experience with physical implementation of server environments, such as cabling, racking, etc.
