Linux Systems AdministratorLocation: San Jose, CAJob Description: Job Description & Responsibilities: You will be working in team who is responsible for managing 200 servers in QA/Staging/Production environment across 4 datacenters in a 24x7 environment. Duties will include: *
  • Linux System setup, networking configuration. *
  • Upgrading operating systems, individual packages. *
  • Troubleshooting networking, application issues. *
  • Maintain and upgrade server hardware. *
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule. *
  • This position may perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge and Skills: *
  • Required Skills *
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and the OSI network model. *
  • RedHat Linux Kickstart. *
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools (Nagios, Cacti, SNMP, etc). *
  • Experience with Apache server administration, configuration, and installation. *
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Additional Desired Skills *
  • Oracle database administration. *
  • Experience administering java based web applications running on J2EE application servers such as JBoss, Tomcat, WebLogic, Resin, or WebSphere. *
  • Linux Professional Institute Certification Level 2 (LPIC-2) or equivalent certification. Education and Work Experience: *
  • BS or equivalent. *
  • 5 years Linux systems administration experience in a 24x7 environment. *
  • 3 years solid experience with either Perl/PHP/Shell scripting. *
  • 3 years experience with networking equipment, including switches, firewalls and load balancers.df-tc
