We have an immediate need for a Linux Systems Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION
Application support administrator responsible for supporting, maintaining, and configuring enterprise engineering tools. Analyze reasons for systems failure, write monitoring, restart scripts, communicate with end user requests coming from multiple time zones and provide system patches. Assist in the deployment of new system and software upgrades.
Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
Analyze reasons for system failure
Problem resolution and communication of system status
Monitor system performance
Develop system monitoring and restart scripts
Respond to user requests from multiple time zones
Communicate system status

Minimum Qualifications (i.e. education and experience):
5 years experience in UNIX /Linux system administration (Red Hat is a plus)
5 years experience in developing shell scripts for monitoring and resolving system issues

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Linux systems administration
Strong shell and perl scripting capabilities
Knowledge of UNIX application installation and upgrade process
Knowledge of application license management on UNIX
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent knowledge of office automation tools
Prepared to work 2nd or 3rd shift
Knowledge of Telelogic CM Synergy application is a plus
Self-motivated and strong trouble shooting abilities
Knowledge of LDAP/Active Directory preferably dealing with application and system integration
