If you are a Linux Systems Engineer/Architect with extensive RHEL experience and live within commuting distance to Manhattan, please read on!

What you need for this position:
- 10+ years experience as a Linux Systems Engineer/Architect
- Prior experience in a Highly Available Linux Systems Environment
- Experience and deep knowledge of Redhat EL 4.x and 5.x
- Strong experience and knowledge of system internals; memory management, scheduling, TCP/IP stack, and etc.
- Strong knowledge of LDAP, DNS, ntp, kickstart, NFS, and dhcp
- Experience and knowledge Ethernet, Infiniband, multicast, VLAN tagging, RDMA, etc.
- Ability to compile Linux Kernels and Kernel modules
- Strong knowledge of Kickstart procedures
- Strong Scripting skills; Perl, bash, and Python(is a plus)
- RHCT and RHCE
- Experience with ITIL

What you'll be doing
You will:
- Architect Linux based solutions to business needs and requirements. Design the environment, hardware specifications, and software layers to provide for a reliable, scalable, secure and highly available Linux Systems Environment.
- Find gaps in the Linux Environment and to offer a solution. You will implement this solution with scripts (Perl/bash). Write scripts for task automation, resource monitoring and performance monitoring.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to the design, installation, administration, and maintenance of multiple Linux systems in a distributed computing environment.
- Ensure stability, viability and maintenance of the 24/7 mission-critical production environment.
- Provide for Level 3 escalations. Lead the L1/L2 teams, to find a solution and a create implementation plan.
- Design and maintain a repeatable, documented patch deployment methodology for administrators to implement.
