Local Area Network/SQL Server Administrator - Specialist Level 2

Job Description and Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Minimum 5 years experience as a Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 Database Administrator.
• Familiar with the administration of Microsoft SQL Server 2008
• Experience with multiple SQL Servers and named instances of SQL Server
• Experience with Active/Active clusters on SAN technology
• Experience in the design, setup, installation and implementation of databases in large scale environments
• Experience in routine data maintenance: re-indexing, integrity checking, database Shrinking, log file monitoring
• Experience in performance tuning: indexing, compression drive distribution, load balancing, replication
• Experience with Clustered SQL Servers
• Extensive knowledge of T-SQL (procedures, triggers, functions)
• Ability to document and implement SQL server Disaster recovery models
• Must posses advanced knowledge of Data Transformations Services
• Must have implemented high availability SQL Server models

• Experience with SQL Server Replication
• Experience with Backups, Restores, jobs, alerts, and processes on SQL Server 2000/2005/2008

• Experience with database and server security
• Experience with virtualization
• Knowledge of TCP/IP concepts
• Knowledge of Microsoft programming languages and concepts
• Preferred Microsoft Certified Database Administrator 2000/2005/2008
• Ability to write and maintain SQL coding standards
• Knowledge and familiarity with SQL server 2005/2008, SSIS, SSRS
• In addition, the candidates must be proficient in English and be able to communicate effectively with other technical staff
