LOGISTICS CENTER SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
JCPenney - Haslet, TX

2ND SHIFT - M-F 3 PM - 11:30 PM
BASIC FUNCTION: Installs, configures, upgrades and maintains operating system and network hardware, administers client application, operating systems and network software, directs problem determination and resolution, and ensures proper security and corporate policy compliance.
1. Completes system application and hardware installs, updates, and upgrades, directs tests of systems to ensure proper results prior to
releasing to client, and ensures necessary inventory, databases, and files are maintained in support of operating system, application
and hardware installs, de-installs or changes.
2. Manages and monitors systems, applications and hardware for optimum efficiency and performs prompt problem recognition and
resolution, escalating as necessary.
3. Ensures continuity of operations for the company by safeguarding business and application data through backup and restore
processes and complying with security policies and procedures.
4. Directs and provides the primary 24 x 7 local support for clients including problem handling, installations, de-installations and upgrades,
and ensures optimum availability of systems.
5. Develops documentation, leads training needs for Data Center and Remote Operations Support Center (ROSC) staff, and provides
information for client developed training requirements.
6. Utilizes all available tools in support of the various activities from install, upgrades to problem determination and resolution, and
ensures audits are performed to verify correct security access.
7. Assigns tasks to support associates coordinating with centralized support groups and local manager.
8. Keeps informed of current technology in all aspects of systems, applications, network and data processing.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Works with local client departments to ensure special requests and scheduling needs are accommodated.
2. Works with vendors on a daily basis to ensure escalated problems and hardware problems are handled in a timely manner.
3. Works with local and remote technical support groups and the Information Technology Control Center (ITCC) to ensure installations
and repairs are completed without interruption to clients.

SUPERVISES: 2 Management / 3 hourly

KNOWLEDGE
Education: College degree or certifications in related fields.

SKILLS:
Experience: 5+ years
Core Competencies: Thorough technical knowledge and application of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures for UNIX/NT/Network as well as host systems, systems development, analytical, and communication skills, ability to direct work group as well as ability to work alone with little supervision.
