We have an immediate need for a M&P Engineer.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. POSITION PURPOSE: Purpose and main objective of position.
Reports to the Systems Engineering Manager.
The primary objective of the position is to select the materials that ensure hardware safety, functionality, service life and compliance with contractual requirements.

2. SPECIFIC ELEMENTS OF POSITION PURPOSE: Describe specific major end result your position must accomplish, the names through which the end results are accomplished (insert extra page if required).
1. Prepares and maintains program plan for materials and processes verification.
2. Conducts or supervises tests on raw materials or finished products in order to ensure their quality.
3. Approves materials substitutions if required and conducts material testing efforts as necessary.
4. Monitors material performance and evaluate material deterioration.
5. Plans and evaluate new projects, consulting with other engineers as necessary.
6. Determines appropriate methods for fabricating and joining materials.
7. Controls the selection and use of materials and processes for structural, mechanical and electrical hardware.
8. Supports subcontractors to verify compliance with requirements.
10. Interprets and applies laws, rules, regulations, and codes related to hazardous materials/hazardous waste handling, storage, management and disposal.
11. Serves as a technical information resource concerning hazardous materials and hazardous waste properties and handling techniques.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Education/Training: BS Degree in engineering field or advanced degree in Materials Engineering is desirable.

Work Experience:
9 years minimum experience.
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment in the design and production of various products.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Skills Required:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment with other engineers and technicians.
- Ability to accurately perform detail oriented work.
- Ability to prioritize and manage concurrent projects.
- Ability to identify problems and define feasible cost-effective solutions.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities.
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong analytical skills and the conceptual and analytical ability in order to define materials requirements in design, production operations, and processes.
- Capable of understanding interpreting engineering drawings and documentation, customer requirements and company requirements.
