This position requires US Citizenship and a possible security clearance. This is a government contract. Before starting work, there will be 2-4 weeks of training in Baltimore, MD. The employee is responsible for responding on a 7 day a week, 24 hour a day basis to correct software problems which prevent the continued operation of the agency's online systems.

Experience in the following skills are desired but not required and additional training will be supplied to the contractor to supplement this functionality
Knowledge of computer systems operations on a large-scale computer system. Experience on the HDS GX and Skyline series Mainframe systems. Knowledge of JES2/3 operator commands, scheduling packages, tape silo manipulation, Direct Access Storage Devices (DASD), Top Secret security interface, Integrated Database Management System (IDMS), Virtual Telecommunications Access Method (VTAM), Websphere, Customer Information and Control System (CICS), DB2, OPS/MVS and how they interact through display facility. Experience in starting, queuing, swapping, canceling, displaying and restarting jobs by using JES2/3 operator commands. Knowledge of computer operator commands to take full system dumps, start traces, perform IPLs, manipulate peripheral devices and reply to messages issued by any of the following: CICS, VTAM, DB2, IDMS, Websphere, Top Secret and OPS/MVS. Ability to identify and determine corrective action to be taken in the event of individual system failure, print facility problems and the backlog of messages displayed at the console. Knowledge of the use of MVS/ESA performance monitors such as OMEGAMON/MVS. Ability to express verbally, and in writing, the documentation of job delays/completions, system malfunctions and other operational problems and problem resolution.
