Kohler Rental Power is a part of the Global Power Group of Kohler Co. Kohler Rental Power focuses on two markets; the Industrial and Event Service Markets. The Industrial Service Market supplies backup and prime power, and temperature control for commercial, industrial, utility and emergency needs. Products include generators, switchgear, and a full supply of climate control products and accessories. The Event Service Market is a turnkey provider for events and corporate hospitality. Its products include generators, power distribution, HVAC, luxury/executive restrooms and infrastructure.

BASIC FUNCTION

The Mgr - Technical Services & Design is responsible for managing the Engineering and Technical Support functions within Kohler Rental. This includes the functional design and operational specifications of rental equipment and project design. Position determines minimum performance criteria for all new equipment and applications. Position will recommend equipment retrofits and rebuild programs for existing equipment and determine functional obsolescence. Position will qualify suitable equipment vendors based upon ability to meet specifications and cost objectives.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages and provides leadership to the KRP Technical Services Dept. consisting of Product Engineering, Project Design, and Technical Training functions for Power, Temperature Control, and Mobile Plumbing product lines.

Responsible for recommending equipment upgrades, retrofits, replacement, and rebuild programs.

Assigns projects to Project Designers, Electrical and Mechanical Technical Specialists, and Support associates ensuring timely completion.

Responsible for approval of technical specifications, performance criteria, and operational parameters for new equipment.

Qualifies and recommends suitable equipment vendors based upon their ability to meet KRP objectives and deliver desired results.

Provides technical information to Marketing, Purchasing, Operations, Maintenance, and Project Management.

Ensures projects have a robust design and equipment is specified to provide reliable operation for the application.

Provides Technical Training opportunities for associates at all levels including equipment maintenance, capabilities, capacities, installation, and operation of all product lines.

Ensures Project Design, Technical Training, and Engineering resources are available to associates at all levels.

Approves customer credits (warranty) for equipment failures and performance shortfalls.

Initiates appropriate corrective actions with regard to design and performance shortcomings.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Must have a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Must have seven (7)+ years experience with electrical or industrial equipment maintenance management, professional credentials preferred.

Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills required, including the ability to meet and react to personnel at all levels.df-tc
