MIS / PROGRAMMING MANAGER Reporting to the VP of Operations, responsible for planning, production and output analysis for the Information Systems Department. Reviews and prioritize management requests for technology/product development, and makes recommendations, as appropriate, on alternative system options. Establish written policies and procedures for various functions performed in the MIS department. Oversee daily operational activities of MIS, web site development, network and PBM (pharmacy benefit management) systems administration. Evaluate programming needs, write development plans, manage production, and provide quality assurance (QA) analysis on MIS production. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS Demonstrated experience in supervision, organization, administration and management of MIS/IS staff. Operational knowledge of personal computers, telecommunications and information technology, web site development, and systems maintenance. Demonstrated experience with VB, SQL, MS Office (primarily Access), Paradox databases, and Crystal Reports. Capacity to plan and direct the work of technical staff. Ability to communicate technical information effectively, both orally and in writing. Make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions. Exercise initiative, discretion, and judgment in making decisions. Think critically to analyze issues and identify alternate courses of action, then follow through with those actions. Maintain confidentiality. Familiarity with pharmacy benefit management (PBM) systems operations preferred. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in MIS/IS Management or similar. 5+ years MIS/IS management. 8+ years MIS/IS management experience will substitute for education requirement.
