Job Description: MS Exchange Administrator

The MS Exchange Server Administrator will be supporting Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server, troubleshooting, proactive management, security management, and heavy operations and ensuring optimal performance standards. The MS Exchange Server Administrator will be responsible for consolidating five (5) disparate email systems onto a single platform. This Microsoft Exchange Server Administrator will be responsible for day-to-day administration of email and Active Directory technologies and will have a strong overall knowledge in messaging, to include specific knowledge in administering Microsoft Exchange. MS Exchange Server Administrator should have knowledge of Exchange 2000/2003, SMTP gateways, RIM technology (Blackberry Server), anti virus and anti spam systems.

Experience/Skills
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree preferred, and 7 years equivalent experience or technical training. Experience in Windows 2000/2003 environment required. Extensive real-world experience with Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and other Microsoft technologies is required. Experience with managing enterprise environments is highly valued. Email messaging system experience required. Knowledge of scripting languages (PERL, SQL, Visual Basic, C shell, etc). Must have demonstrated experience with the development of Microsoft Exchange messaging environment (including server, network, and client architectures). Experience with Internet and e-mail support (LDAP, Ironport and Baracuda is a plus). Strong working knowledge of SMTP, mail routing, DNS, Blackberry and Outlook client/server interoperability.
Duties and Responsibilities
Administrator responsible for supporting MS Exchange, Active Directory, and other Windows 2000/2003-based systems at FIT. The candidate will lead sub-projects that will assess new messaging capability, establish evaluation and test plans for messaging technologies, including the supporting infrastructure of directory services, messaging backbones, systems management and reporting. Implement and support MS Exchange 2007, Adam, CAS/HUB and email storage systems. Work hands on, provide troubleshooting, and acquire new skills rapidly. Maintain and provide full documentation of processes.
