POSITION SUMMARY:This person will be responsible for the continuing development of the enterprise messaging architecture. This includes but is not limited to the research, analysis and implementation of new solutions to meet customer needs, providing analysis of upgrades and patches to the current environment and the ongoing evaluation of current products being used in the enterprise. This individual will also be responsible for the SMTP e-mail infrastructure. KEY OBJECTIVES/ACTIVITIES: MS Exchange Architect and engineer to develop, design, and maintain email strategy for the enterprise globally. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the 4th level support hierarchy and methodology. (Cross trained AD engineers will provide 3rd level support). Oversee system administration on Exchange 2003 servers. Responsibilities include the validation with vendor of monitoring , installation, upgrading, and license management on servers that support the Exchange environment. Request restorations, recoveries, patches and other maintenance activities. Perform planning and execution of system changes in the Exchange environment. Trouble shooting of Exchange database issues. Maintain operational documentation and manuals. Ensure site compliance with electronic and physical security procedures and standards. Responsible for ensuring the e-mail and messaging environment SLAs are being met by the vendor. Review routine SLA reports for the designated areas provide definitive compliance measurements against specific key performance indicators (KPIs). Perform routine analysis of the existing environment assessing and reporting on the following:o Conformance to design and operational support architectures and procedureso Opportunities for increasing service level performance o Architectural deployment statuso Systems degradationo Intra-departmental architecture operational faultso System engineering based on trend monitoring and usage analysis Develop and enhance solutions for routine and complex operational processes and procedures associated with the systems environment. Perform enterprise tuning of Exchange 2003, Active Directory and related services. Responsible for all backup, troubleshooting and disaster recovery processes/procedures associated with Exchange 2003, Active Directory, and related technologies. Request backup schedule changes and recoveries of vendor. Develop, and request of vendor, execution of contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolating major service outages. Oversees migration and integration with foreign and legacy messaging and directory systems. Leads technical projects in all areas of messaging and related technologies. Implement all technologies that integrate with the e-mail and messaging system. Research industry advancements, relevant industry standards, and new products in messaging, real-time collaboration, unified messaging, conferencing, and related technologies. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION1. Candidate must have minimum of 5 years experience with an enterprise-messaging infrastructure.2. Very strong practical knowledge of enterprise instant messaging and email messaging architecture. 3. Very strong practical knowledge of Instant Messaging Gateway solutions for compliance and surveillance, such as FaceTime, IM Logic, Akonix as well as a good understanding of popular Instant Messaging tools. 4. The candidate should have expert knowledge of: i. Windows 2000/2003 Server ii. Exchange 2000/2003, iii. All current versions Outlook and other mail clients Networking in a Windows environment 5. Familiarity with AntiVirus solutions for messaging6. Experience with SMTP mail including Sendmail.7.
