Machine Repair Technician III "Stamping"
PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide, PLC, Robotics, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic installation, repair, and troubleshooting support to all areas of manufacturing.
RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY: Responsibility for quality and conformance of product to customer specifications per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems; authority to stop non-conforming processes and report same to supervisor, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering department representative
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
1. Must be able to perform complex repairs without supervision using mechanical equipment and/or hand tools.
2. Read, modify, or make design changes to any mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or basic electrical prints when needed.
3. Knowledge of Robotics (Fanuc, ABB, Panasonic, Comau, Motoman)
4. Knowledge of PLC's (Allen Bradley)
5. Knowledge of Beckhoff, TwinCAT or Wintress Press Controls
6. Knowledge of Roll mill would be beneficial
7. Troubleshoot and repair lubrication systems and components.
8. Disassemble and repair clutch and brake assemblies.
9. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic circuit components.
10. Troubleshoot electrical control systems.
11. Troubleshoot and repair gear, belt and chain drives.
12. Disassemble and repair shaft bearings and seal assemblies.
13. Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic circuit components.
14. Direct others in performing necessary tasks for successful project completion.
15. Lead other team members in continuous improvement projects.
16. Improve ergonomic, safety, environmental and/or quality practices as they pertains to the employees in the plant.
17. Ability to assist other team members in development of personal skills and growth within the department.
18. Maintenance welding and cutting using electrode arc welder, MIG (metal inert gas) welder, and oxyacetylene welding and cutting equipment.
19. Install production and support equipment in conjunction with moderate fabrication and rigging in conjunction with Engineering and Production with minimum or no supervision.
20. Inspect equipment condition utilizing established Preventive Maintenance procedures.
21. Seek continuous improvement opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce waste.
22. Maintain necessary documentation including machine histories, preventive maintenance check sheets, and logbooks.
23. Ability to adhere to and perform all essential safety procedures.
24. Serve on Emergency/Spill Response Team as required.
25. Housekeeping and other activities as assigned.

Must have the ability to develop spreadsheets and word documents. Must be able to perform minor electrical projects and ability to use fabrication equipment; Ability to weld, fabricate and do minor electrical projects.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to access equipment to troubleshoot problems; requires continuous standing, climbing, and bending with occasional kneeling, stooping, and crawling; lifting up to 75 lbs. occasionally; gross and fine motor use skills required; visual and audible inspection of machinery required; good hand-eye coordination; compliance with personal protective equipment requirements
EQUIPMENT/TOOLS USED
Hand tools and test equipment; drills, saws, machine shop equipment; portable welding and grinding equipment; precise measuring equipment; forklift; genie boom; overhead crane; ladders; mop, bucket, broom
KNOWLEDGE
EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent required.
TECHNICAL TRAINING: 4-year machine repair apprenticeship. Knowledge of resistance and metal inert gas (MIG) welding fundamentals. Robotics and PLC's

WORK EXPERIENCE
WHAT TYPES? Industrial Maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment; familiarity with a closed loop work order system.
HOW MUCH? A combination of six years press shop and assembly maintenance related experience in a manufacturing environment is acceptable.

OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION
Daily and weekend overtime (mandatory at times) is necessary to keep production machinery operating efficiently and to meet production schedules. Individuals in this position are encouraged utilize the clients Educational Assistance program and pursue technical training outside of work to enhance their skills. Technicians will perform all other duties as assigned.
