Description
Position: Systems Development - Senior Specialist
The Candidate must have the ability to quickly comprehend existing processes, assisting in the development of new processes and provide process improvement opportunities. The Candidate is responsible for reviewing business requirements and data mapping documents and providing necessary feedback, assisting with the creation and review of unit, system and or integration test plans, reviewing issues logs and keeping the status up-to-date. The types of interface processes that the Candidate is responsible for include, but are not limited to, Pension Payroll, Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Payroll, Health and Wealth Vendor interfaces, COBRA, Premium Reports and/or customized extracts. The Candidate needs to have excellent communication skills, both oral and written including explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical users. Some on-call support will be needed.

EXPERIENCE:
The Candidate needs to have 4+ years of experience with SQL, Unix, mainframe technologies (JCL, Cobol, Quickjob, TSO etc.), Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word experience.

The Candidate needs to:
  • Work well in a team environment, providing support to business users and technical staff.
  • Have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, corporate personnel and end users.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Have a strong ability to be organized, manage time and handle multiple tasks/projects and priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Have knowledge, and practical experience in following proper SDLC (system development life cycle) methods
  • Have the ability to understand data flows and trace problems



    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
    The Candidate is required to work with their business counterparts to resolve issues and plan projects. Duties for this position include:
  • Coordinate the system development life cycle with the core development team, including offshore resources in our India Development Center and business analysts
  • Design, develop and implement interface processes using various technologies
  • Analyze, manipulate, transform and load data
  • Create high-level design documents and technical specifications
  • Develop and execute test plans, including post-production verification
  • Develop documentation and assist with the transition to a production operations team
  • Review interface files for reasonability/high level data integrity


    EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) from a four-year college or university.
    OTHER DESIRABLE SKILLS: Exposure to/Knowledge of ETL tools, Informatica, Microsoft Access, Cybermation, Quickjob and SAS Base (including Macros and functions) a plus.df-tc
