$82.5K - $93K Based on experience. Temp to Perm after 6 months

xScion Solutions is an Information Technology professional services firm supporting leading commercial clients in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. We are currently supporting a large medical insurance company with some of their key hiring needs and are currently seeking a mainframe DB2 DBA to support large, legacy systems.

This position requires strong relational database design and maintenance skills in Z/OS/MVS and DB2 database utilities.
Duties include database design working with tables and indexes, performance management and tuning, trouble-shooting, supporting application developers, storage management, standardization of JCL coding, and dataset naming conventions.
Ability to take the lead in some of these and other team tasks, determine steps necessary for timely completion and monitoring status of the tasks.

Required skills:
- 4+ years as a DB2 DBA in a mainframe environment
- knowledge and skilled used of relevant IBM utilities for DB2 and storage
- PC skills required include Microsoft Office software suite, such as MS Access, Word, EXCEL.
- strong communication skills
- ability to work on a team, take direction, and work independentlydf-tc
