We are currently seeking a Mainframe/Messaging Support Specialist for a 6-month contract in Morrisville, NC. Will participate as an active member of the worldwide Mainframe Middleware support team Monitor and assure the stability of the production environments and provide support to the firm's Prime Services application developers. The support aspect of this role requires knowledge of many technologies. The group supports the operational systems and keep them working. It also supports the developers and make sure that they are provided with every opportunity to produce good systems.
. Analyze existing environments and make necesary changes.
. Work with application developmetn teams to support relocation of testing to properly alligned environments.
. Create new MQ and Foboca environments as needed to support GAD testing.

Experience/Skills
Required skills:
. MQ Series, or EMS, UNIX, and solid technical background in middleware messaging systems essential.
. Good familiarity with technical architecture concepts.
. Strong research and information gathering skills.
. Ability to work on own initiative, researching and following up issues is important.
. Must be someone able to handle our clients with respect and consideration no matter what the provocation.
. Solid Messaging Support Background essential

Desirable
. GRID Experience.
. Experience with CICS and OS/390.
. Knowledge of programming constructs/code debugging techniques would be an advantage.
. Knowledge of Financial industry is an advantage but secondary to the technical and people skills necessary for the support desk.
