We have an immediate need for a Mainframe Systems and Applications Programmer

JOB DESCRIPTION
Client: Major Bank
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship

Term: 6-18mo w/option to hire

Job Description
The person should have strong analytical skills and be able to provide support for the existing business application and be able to work independently and as a team player.
Responsibilities may include: analysis of business requirements, users liaison, design, coding, testing, maintenance, development, implementation of Mainframe software, be able to exchange data between Mainframe and other Servers using NDM (or FTP), write documentation, provide user training, support production Mainframe environment, be able to work in adhoc Mainframe environment and perform multi-tasking with strict due-dates.
Typical daily responsibilities:
* Support the data collection processes from various Systems of Records installed in production as well as in an On-Demand environment by verifying availability of the data, and reviewing and enhancing the audit process.
* Support the overall Mainframe production environment by generating and/or resolving production related problem tickets.
* Support the Adhoc Request team by completing customer requests for data using software like Easytrieve, SAS, SyncSort
* Communicate with users when needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BS Degree
5 years experience in Mainframe programming and system developing in IBM Mainframe environment
working knowledge of business applications (financial applications experience is plus)
strong communication skills
project management skills
experience with full development life cycle
IBM Mainframe and IBM PC
Strong knowledge of Easytrieve plus
JCL/PROCs, OS/MVS, TSO ISPF
Endevor (or at least ChangeMan experience), CA7/CA11
NDM, FTP, SyncSort/SORT, IBM Utilities, IDCAMS
Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
Preferred Skills
SAS, Cobol
VM/CMS, VSAM
DB2
Microsoft Access
SQL
