Description
Manage assigned personnel and the quality assurance process for testing team responsible for Functional and Automated testing of applications as part of the Quality Assurance Office. Promote team’s capabilities and testing best practices.



Ensure schedules, cost and performance are balanced and technical standards, business and quality objectives are met.



Direct project staff assignment. Coordinate development of test strategies, test plans, test scripts and executions across multiple systems and platforms. Direct technology, productivity and performance initiatives and drive complex technical activities.



Improve the delivery process of products through the use of a structured methodology. Support QA testing environments that duplicate production of all systems. Monitor productivity and quality of deliverables and drive use of Group standards; assist in setting technical policy and direction.



Manage overseas testing staff for outsourced needs. Build strong partnerships with internal customers to add value and extend the traditional model of services. Raise the overall corporate perception of the technology services organization through efforts that increase key focal point ratings supplied by business partners. Identify opportunities to improve established processes and procedures to expand business benefit.



Assist, as needed, in the development of the strategic technical architecture in partnership with the business or staff department. Provide consultation to line managers and businesses supported relative to technology issues. Ensure technical infrastructure and direction support business initiatives.



Keep informed on technical and professional developments affecting area of responsibility and advises department and division management on new developments. Maintain awareness of business strategies and emerging technologies to provide high quality, state of the art, technical solutions which support business goals and technical strategies.



Ensure compliance monitoring is in place, including processes for management of operational risk, in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards. Complete other related duties as assigned, provide management direction to foster selection, development and reward of subordinates while contributing to initiatives in support of the Company’s Diversity programs.df-tc

Experience/Skills
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience with major or minor in Computer Science or related field Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of eight to ten years experience in applications systems assignments with medium to large scale projects, including three years in quality assurance assignments
  • Experience with HP (Mercury) Test Suite preferred.
    Testing experience preferred.
