Manager, Healthcare Decision Support

No third party submittals US citizen or permanent resident only. Seeking a leader to assume responsibility for delivering decision support tools and information. Working in the Information Technology Group, this position manages a team of 10 analysts/developers, and will drive the creation and adoption of advanced BI capabilities throughout the healthcare mission. The HCDS Manager serves as the central resource and coordinator for the provision of data, information, reports, and tools used for concurrent and retrospective decision support. This position s main areas of focus are 1) staff recruitment, development, retention and accountability; 2) support and enhancement of decision support infrastructure and capabilities, including Cognos, Crystal Reports, and Epic s Clarity database and Reporting Workbench tools; (3) collaboration with key stakeholders to understand requirements and create solutions. The preferred candidate will have a technical degree, deep domain knowledge in BI and healthcare, and prior experience working in an academic medical center using Epic s BI environment and the Cognos toolset.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Healthcare Management, etc.
• Minimum three years experience as a Project Leader managing and implementing information system projects.
• Must have ten years of cumulative work experience in the information technology field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience where two years of experience will be substituted for an Advanced degree.
• Two years experience working with relational databases as a report writer, systems analyst, or DBA.
• Significant organizational skills and ability to lead projects from conception, schedule, design, testing, through implementation.
• Must have excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills: both written and verbal.
• Experience in complex technology environments, including hands-on experience
• Knowledge of development life-cycle and production environment procedures.
• Effective leadership of highly-skilled, technical personnel in overseeing the development and implementation of applications technology.
• Fluency in SQL and an industry-standard report writer.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Master-s degree in relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Healthcare Management, etc.
• Experience with Epic-s Clarity product or similar Database Reporting product
• Experience implementing decision support technology that enabled fundamental changes in operational or clinical practice.
• Prior management experience in a large, tertiary academic medical center
• Experience in Healthcare Information Systems analysis, development and implementation.
• Experience using decision support toolsets including Cognos, Crystal, Clarity, Reporting Workbench
• Expert knowledge in information technology applications (database applications, application administration, programming languages).
• Knowledge of quality management and performance improvement techniques as it relates to healthcare.
• Cognos expertise.
• Knowledge of ETL processes and industry-standard tools and methods.
