Description
The Manager, Applications Development is responsible for successfully delivering application and procedural enhancements across multiple projects, while maintaining alignment with corporate expectations. This role requires previous managerial experience in a software development lifecycle environment, including technical and functional leadership, solution framing, opportunity identification, business case development/analysis, strategic planning, issue negotiation/resolution, and senior level client interaction. On a daily basis, the Manager, Applications Development will oversee diverse project teams in evaluating, estimating, prioritizing, and delivering client change requests through the documented change control process, while maintaining customer satisfaction expectations.

Additional responsibilities include managing project scope, project tracking, risk identification and mitigation, status reporting for the department as a whole, and service quality. The manager will be responsible for the overall direction and development of resources within the department, including expectations setting, skill development, task definition, and performance management.In addition to daily solution delivery responsibilities, this manager needs to coordinate cross-project departmental initiatives, such as standardizing processes to optimize solution delivery, introducing technology components to improve project efficiencies (such as estimating/testing tools), promoting and aiding software object reuse, fostering clear communication across multi-site projects, synchronizing activities/communication, and identifying potential synergies across projects.


Experience/Skills
Expert knowledge of a Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Methodology & adherence to those guidelines. Expert knowledge of Project Management oversight. Knowledge of business outsourcing operations
Strong negotiating skills. At least 5-7 years of management. Extensive understanding of application development [C, SQL]. Advanced knowledge of customer information systems/CIS required. Strong outsourcing background. Ability to effectively manage technical & functional resources within budget & timeline
