Excellent opportunity to manage a team of 4-5 technical database administrators and database developers.

THIS IS A HANDS ON POSITION AS WELL. THIS WILL BE A WORKING MANAGER SO THE CANDIDATE MUST HAVE SOLID DATABASE EXPERIENCE (ESPECIALLY WITH SQL 2000 AND 2005).


Position Objective:
The purpose of this position is to manage the clinical mapping and data management teams, as well as effectively supervise both departmental workflow processes and production output to the highest levels of quality and client satisfaction.

Primary Job Functions:
Supervise and direct regular clinical mapping and data management department activities performed by the departmental management, team leadership, consultants and other coordinators.
? Coordinate tasks, workload and priorities with team management and departmental staff involved in the project.
? Assist staff in activities to ensure timely project completion and client satisfaction.
? Actively monitor departmental production and core product functionality.
? Identify and promote excellence in all departmental activities including communication, follow up and work product.
? Act as escalation point for employee issue resolution, client communication and internal staffing support needs.
? Track incoming and outgoing project details and client satisfaction.
? Communicate with customers, and other implementation and product managers to identify and prioritize production requirements and process definitions.
? Proactively refine departmental process specifications and associated requirements.
? Document processes prior to release and maintain internal control processes. Enhance QC processes, documentation and production requirements.

TEAM LEADERSHIP:
? Identify employee training needs and performance improvement opportunities.
? Initiate employee training opportunities and institute goals and measurements of success.
? Conduct employee coaching and counseling as indicated with support of Human resources.
? Support methods to reward exemplary performance.
? Increase employee morale and team effectiveness.

Minimum Knowledge and Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of middle management experience (including healthcare, insurance and/or healthcare software) in a midsize company required.

6+ years of Management Experience, Managing technical teams. 6+ years of SQL Server DBA hands-on experience. Experience working in a fast paced production environment. Microsoft Server Configuration and management
Understanding of storage and security best practices. Strong Knowledge in database architecture and design. Experience with log shipping and database replication.

Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005
Backup and Recovery
Optimization and stored procedure development
Experience with replication

Indexing schemes and implementation
Server clustering
Database partitioning
