InfoTech Resources is seeking candidates for a Manager of Web Development . This is a direct hire position is Jackson , MS . The Manager, Web Development is responsible for managing the analysis, design, development, implementation, and on-going support of the corporation s Web enabled systems and ensuring that Web technologies meet business objectives and are properly aligned with strategic objectives. The Manager, Web Development also works to evaluate, recommend, and implement proper technical solutions to enhance business value of operations and to establish and maintain tactical plans that support the corporate strategic vision.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
1. Manages Web team resources in analysis, design, development, implementation, and on-going support and enhancements of the corporation s Web enabled systems.
Leads the Web team in accomplishing Web projects and development initiatives through their defined lifecycle phases ie concept, design, development, implementation, and operation and support.
Attains and maintains in-depth knowledge of Web systems principles, functions, and technologies to effectively lead Web resources.
Monitors and controls the volume and severity of system problems. Proactively ensures data integrity of assigned systems.
2. Ensures assigned Web development task deployments meet business objectives.
Assigns system development, enhancement, and QA tasks appropriately to ensure maximum efficiency in delivering Web solutions.
Maintains the master Web development team resource allocation plan.
Establishes and maintains benchmarks and reports performance/statuses on a weekly, quarterly, and annual basis for eBusiness Services.
3. Works closely with both vendors, business users, and other IT staff to evaluate, recommend, and implement the proper technical solutions to enhance business value of operations.
Ensures coordination of responsibilities among all parties involved in Web enhancement projects, including users, vendors, T&D staff, and others.
Generates position papers and/or recommendations on system improvements, tools, strategies, and processes.
Establishes and sustains strong, positive, professional relationships with the end user community.
Establishes and sustains a strong, positive and professional relationship with other IT personnel to ensure maximum opportunity for guidance and support regarding database design, development, and performance tuning.
Job-Specific Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field is required.
Experience in project management is required.
Must have knowledge in defining work and process flows (creating an understanding of which process to use when and why).
Must have strong knowledge in Project Management Methodologies and SDLC methodology
Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills required.
Understanding of HTML, XML, JSP, Java, EJB, SQL, WebSphere, STRUTS, Framework Design Patterns and DB2 is required.
Knowledge of Mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, CICS, MVS) is preferred.
Knowledge of Web Technologies and Object Oriented Methodologies is preferred.
Must have demonstrated management skills with Web projects staffed with at least 3 team members (resource allocation, timely production of deliverables, quality benchmarks, and timely delivery of product to end user).
