Our Client is a proprietary off-floor equity options trading firm located in Chicago, Illinois, is looking for a Market Data Specialist to join its Development team. Our approach is based on a business model that emphasizes the integration of trading, information analysis and software development to maximize risk-adjusted returns. Our trading environment is one of intense and dynamic interaction between traders and analysts that encourages innovation to optimize all aspects of trading and research.

This candidate will take responsibility for Clients historical equity market data repository, a key strategic asset of the firm. The candidate will re-architect the data repository, and develop processes, procedures and tools to maintain and enhance this data set. The candidate will also evaluate, select and manage 3rd party data vendor relationships.

The ideal candidate should have:
- An undergraduate degree in computer science or engineering is required. A graduate degree is desired, but not required.
- Experience with relational database and time series data repository technology.
- Strong equity and equity derivative market understanding and experience.
- Experience dealing with third party market data vendors, particularly relating to equity market data.
- Strong data management, software engineering and project management background.

In addition to the qualifications listed above, the candidate should possess strong analytic skills, have a detail orientated approach, and be able to work and communicate effectively with a diverse team of traders, developers and analysts.

Desired Skills:
A BS in Computer Science.
