Description
We are looking for a talented technical manager to lead the mass storage software team at Apple to maintain and develop the software pieces necessary to support our product line-up's storage needs. This individual will play a key role in leading our future endeavors into the storage arena. This is a critical position working on all elements of storage at Apple from consumer to enterprise. The right candidate will be driven to achieve aggressive schedules with Apple's teams and 3rd party vendors. The ability to manage multiple programs and teams is critical for this role.

Major Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain relationships with key storage partners and internal cross-functional teams (HW, Marketing, Program Management) to develop and execute storage roadmap to required schedules.
* Leads and implement's the management structure of the mass storage software organization to meet Apple's goals in areas including: recruiting, salary and review process, bug management and closure, and future technical direction.
* Review team presentations and plans to ensure correctness and assess degree of success.
* Develops processes and new relationships to improve the quality and predictability of the team

Skills:
* Technical - Strong hands-on software, storage and system background including debug used to identify key talent and grow junior talent.
* Teamwork - The candidate must be able to collaborate with several other teams at Apple to achieve the organization's goals.
* Communication - Strong written and verbal communication skills used to communicate the state of current projects, write reviews, job descriptions and clearly define roles and growth paths for the team.
* Protocols - Hands-on familiarity with many of the following protocols and technologies: ATA, SCSI, FibreChannel, RAID, PCI, USB, FireWire.df-tc
