The Load and Performance Tester will have responsibility and accountability for system and database performance testing areas of Oracle and IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who desires to be an integral member of an implementation team. You must have a proven track record working on large software development, systems implementation, and systems integration projects, and be able to work closely with business leaders, users, colleagues, and other stakeholders to identify and maximize opportunities for using Oracle functionality to improve business processes and to promote the strategic use of information.

Duties will include:

  • Assist the Tech/DBA team in load and performance testing activities along with establishing testing methodologies and defining testing processes throughout Quality Assurance Life Cycle
  • Lead the initiative of development of performance/load testing strategies, detailed test plans, test cases, test data, and test coverage
  • Support the tactical execution of a performance test plan using Mercury Load Runner, and communicate and track issues to closure
  • Communicate (orally and written) on performance testing status, concerns / short-comings, and issues that effect system performance, the customer experience, the reliability of the system to process transactions and provide services to user community
  • Provide additional technical expertise around performance and load testing areas
  • Work with developers to understand and debug software issues
  • Conduct quality assurance activities related to testing processes and strategy, as well as for contributing to the testing process design and improvement
  • Assist with and develop the necessary documentation for reporting the status of the test process and quality assessment
  • Perform various other project related tasks as assigned
  • Assist PMO team in reviewing, maintaining, and managing various project management, change management, and communication activities
  • Work closely with all members of the implementation team to identify and resolve project needs, perform issue tracking and resolution, create documentation and training material, and contribute to workflow design and development
  • Work directly with users to facilitate issue resolution and change management

    Experience/Skills
  • BS/BA or equivalent work experience in an Information Technology or global business environment
  • EXPERT-LEVEL knowledge and use of Mercury Load Runner for automated load and performance testing
  • Experience planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining load testing strategies and processes
  • Experience developing test plans and test strategies including documenting scope, approach, timing, resources, deliverables and results
  • Experience with other Mercury Interactive products
  • Experience in providing performance reporting, monitoring, and feedback to stakeholders on an ongoing basis
  • Experience in establishing ongoing approach and process for cross-functional performance testing initiatives along with identifying ways to increase the efficiency of the test team
  • Working knowledge of systems, their interdependencies, and related data elements/sources
  • Highly motivated, flexible team player with demonstrated ability to thrive in a mission-critical business environment
  • Excellent customer service, problem solving, and written and oral communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to work as a member of a large implementation project team
