Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will be a skilled project manager who can utilize their strong knowledge of configuration and resource (people) management to successfully plan, manage, execute and ultimately improve the release process within our portfolio. Works with relevant business units and application development teams to establish release plans, schedules, and capacity that meet our business objectives for the applications we support.

Accountabilities:

1. Acts as primary advocate between project development and operations groups to ensure proper operational transition of new applications or change requests.
2. Drives release of new software into the appropriate development and test environments using the controlling processes of release, configuration and change management.
3. Builds and manages all release plans.
4. Manages critical defects related to release and configuration management activities.
5. Evaluates the release following implementation and drives continuous improvement into the company's IT processes.
6. Manages the impact that a given change or bundle of changes entering the production environment has on associated stakeholders.
7. Scope management to ensure changes follow the change control process.
8. Partners with development project managers to ensure resources for a given release match the effort
9. Manages the department including interviewing and hiring employees following required EEO and Affirmative Action guidelines and ensuring employees receive the proper training. Conducts performance evaluation, and is responsible for managing employees, including skill and career development, policy administration, coaching on performance management and behavior, employee relations and cost control.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree and 5 years in a project management role supporting several initiatives concurrently.
2. (3) years experience managing project(s) involving multiple team members and including task assignment, working with key customers (internal or external), managing team and customer relationships and managing project deliverables.
3. (3-5) years in a release management position to include resource capacity planning
4. Demonstrated leadership skills with proven ability to define and implement win-win solutions
6. Demonstrates strong working knowledge of project management methodology and SDLC.
7. Strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Working knowledge of Rational tool suite.df-tc
