We are currently seeking a Mid level Oracle Application DBA for a contract with an initial term of 6 months in the RTP area.

The DBA will perform "Operational" type tasks - create user, increase tablespace, unlock account, refresh environment from backup, export, import, promote code, research query performance issues, run stats on a table/schema, grant roles, etc.. This position deals with trouble tickets and will involve triaging of Database issues.

The position requires someone to work as a dedicated consultant in a fast paced environment and has good client relations. . This position will be to handle routine requests such as creating and changing database objects, managing security and access, and creating test data. Preference given to good work ethic, teamwork, communication skills.
. Provides support for assigned databases responding to database and user problems.
Monitors database error logs, etc, to ensure proper capacity and availability.
Designs database configurations in cooperation with application developers, addressing necessary performance and recoverability issues.
. Executes database software installations, database creations/configurations, and loads.
. Supports activities of developers and users as they implement new processes and applications.
. Knowledge of system and object level security.
. Skilled in troubleshooting techniques.
