Description
Datacenter Technician needed ASAP through Robert Half Technician for one of global clients. Role will provide infrastructure technical expertise with 50% systems administration and 50% hardware support duties. This is a NIGHT SHIFT position on a rotating schedule (4 day/3 day work week) with a 10% SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL on top of base salary, plus OVERTIME PAY.Specific responsibilities: • Provide hardware configurations to properly configure all hardware entering the data center. • Provide support to Windows, Linux/Unix operating systems. Our environment is 90% Windows. • Racking and cabling management to create a clean and manageable environment. • Provide hardware support to identify and fix issues related to failures or pre-failures of hardware. • Handle the reporting of hardware failures to ensure system support and application support groups are aware of any issues with the hardware. • Troubleshoot of hardware related issues to provide and assist other support groups when an error occurs with a system or application.

Experience/Skills
Qualifications:• 2-4 years work experience in a datacenter (24x7) environment. • Knowledge of various operating systems including Windows, Linux/Unix. • Proven experience in hardware maintenance including cabling, device reboots, hardware device changes (PIC cards, hard drives,etc.). • Solid understanding of network protocols. • Undergraduate degree or related experience.
