Network Engineer

Duties:

Design, implementation, and management of Telecom network infrastructure.

Regularly coordinate with Telecom Engineers, IT professionals, Telecom technicians (union), and other departments.

Be a liaison between Telecom department and IT department

Requirements:

10+ years in network design and implementation (Ideal candidate

Experience in network planning and design (Ideal candidate should have specific examples where they have designed (or significantly contributed to the design of) a network from the ground up).

Experience in a NOC environment (Ideal candidate should be very familiar with the design and operation of a Network Operations Center.)

Experience in VOIP deployment

Experience with Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS)- Experience in wireless networking

Experience in network troubleshooting

Experience in network security

Use of network analyzing equipment

Hands-on experience in configuring routers, switches, etc.

Excellent communication skills a must

Must be able to work well in a team environment including union employees

Demonstrated ability to provide technical and operational leadership to other network team members and professionals from other IT disciplines

Familiar with SONET and other TDM transports

Experience configuring and maintaining firewalls and authentication Servers

Proven ability to use own judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals
