JOB DESCRIPTION

Provides support in the translation of business requirements into telecommunications (eg LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designs, and orders. Also, provides in-depth engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives for government agencies in support of their strategic modernization efforts and telecommunications enhancement design for medium and large-scale telecommunications infrastructures. Provides interface support to telecommunications end users, telecommunications operations personnel, and telecommunications strategic program management.

The contractor shall perform troubleshooting techniques to isolate the source of, diagnose and or resolve, or assist in the resolution of network problems (end-to-end) and root cause analysis

The contractor shall monitor system operability and functionality, identify abnormal performance and degradation and complete resolution actions and return the system to normal performance.

It is desired that the person have previous experience using HP OpenView.
The contractor will be responsible for to resolve customer trouble tickets. Much of the nightly maintenance activities are perform on the off-shifts. This entails working trouble tickets in addition to the network monitoring that takes place. It would be beneficial if the person already has a working knowledge of Remedy

The person must have excellent customer service skills oral and written, communication, patience, along with the ability and poise to effectively interact with multiple levels of the customer organization and various vendors
