Job Description:
The project is currently in the transformation phases. The transformation phase includes all tasks associated with the consolidation and optimization of Texas data center services, including equipment migration, software upgrades, etc. into two consolidated data centers.

Our Client requires the services of 1 Network Application Analyst for the Data Center Services Program hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification of Systems Analyst 3 Emerging and the specifications outlined in this document for the Technology Center Operations Division of Our Client.

The Network Application Analyst position is part of the Transformation team and requires strong analytical skills to be able to identify and resolve complex problems arising from data communications and networking issues related to activities to transform and consolidate data center operations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Assist the DCS Network Coordinator to identify and resolve complex problems and issues related to data communications and networking required to support transformation activities
B. Coordinate with DCS Service Provider, Our Client Communications Technology Services Division and the DCS Customer Agencies to troubleshoot and resolve network issues and performance problems
C. Provide network expertise; troubleshooting, isolating, and interpreting DCS Customer Agencies performance problems; leveraging network troubleshooting tools; and providing detailed expertise working with routers, switches, and routing protocols.
D. Identifies problems concerning schedule, transformation activities and works with the DCS Network Coordinator to resolve
E. Assists the DCS Network Coordinator in the resolution of escalated issues and disputes according to escalation procedures
F. Track and report on the status of activities, issues and action items
G. Assists and supports all activities of the DCS Network Coordinator, as needed
H. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Years Skills/Experience
8 Experience in designing, deploying, and supporting large WANs and LANs, of which at least five years of experience designing large WANs (over 100 sites)
8 Experience in designing, deploying, and supporting large WANs and LANs, of which at least five years of experience designing large WANs (over 100 sites)
5 Experience in troubleshooting, isolating, and interpreting performance problems in a multi-protocol environment
5 Experience working with network troubleshooting tools and protocol analyzers such as NetScout, OmniPeek, and Network Instruments, SolarWinds, Cisco Works, HP Openview etc
3 Experience working with SONET, DWDM, and Ethernet over WAN
3 Experience working with cross-functional teams and act in the leadership role
3 Experience working with routers, switches, and routing protocols
Certification Cisco Certified Network Professional Certification, or Foundry Certified Network Professional, or Juniper Network Certified Specialist

3 Extensive experience working as a liaison with internal or external customers to answer questions, solve problems, plan, or define requirements; experience establishing and maintaining effective communications, a service orientation, and an effective working relationship with multiple business unit and IT technical stakeholders
