Description
SMARSOURCE is looking for an Engineer to perform a Network Assessment, which will include current network utilization in Vermont and all WAN links to other locations. Upon the completion of the Network Assessment portion of this engagement, We will document its findings and make recommendations based on industry best practices for the network infrastructure at the Vermont location.

Phase I - Planning and Startup

* Discussion about current and future network requirements
* Discuss the network services and design methodology
* Setup team and schedule project
* Gather current network data/information such as network diagram, hardware devices, etc.
* Define current and future needs of the network infrastructure


Phase II - Network Assessment

* Basic traffic analysis
* Review of current network infrastructure configuration files against
Industry best practice standards
* Network performance and utilization (trend) analysis
* Analyze current network topology (LAN & WAN) and design
* Basic network security analysis
* Basic review of firewall rules
* Analyze current operational procedures
* Basic disaster recovery and network resiliency analysis
* Review network documentation (diagrams, policies, procedures, and
standards)
* Analyze wireless network configuration and security
* Review current environmental conditions of the data center and wiring
closets
* Review NECI video conferencing requirements and provide recommendations
that will support the NECI video conferencing strategy.


Phase III - Post-Assessment

* Network Assessment documentation and Gap Analysis

o Document all data relevant to maintenance of the legacy network
infrastructure
o Identify issues that may potentially impact security, stability,
performance and reliability of the network infrastructure
o Ascertain the potential impact of network growth for the NECI's network

o Provide recommendations to improve the networking infrastructure and
performance
o Present emerging technologies and directions to enhance future network
growth

Deliverables

Insight will provide the following deliverables:

* On-site Network Consultant
* Network performance monitoring
* Network discovery and assessment
* Network diagram

• Final Network Assessment Report
