Job Duties and Qualifications:

Summary
POSITION SUMMARY (Purpose of Job):
Responsible for the installation, repair and preventative maintenance of personal computer, networks and related systems. Provides technical support to internal or external networked desktop systems. Responsible for screening, referring and diagnosing internal or external inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of personal computers, networks, and related systems. Works on assignments that are complex in nature where independent action and initiative are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Some independence in determination of methods and procedures on new assignments. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. May act as the work lead for the activities of level 1 help desk employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (List essential responsibilities and duties)
• Help desk level 2 support function. Perform troubleshooting in the identification of applicable problems relating to PC’s, applications software and network communications. Identifies root causes of complex problems and resolve or recommend solutions as appropriate.
• Installs, configures, and troubleshoots workstations, and Servers in a heterogeneous environment. Maintains password security, data integrity, and file system security.
• Performs all installations, upgrades and backups of software and hardware applications.
• Performs hardware and software moves, adds and changes.
• Coordinate work activities for other help desk team members. May be responsible for the estimation, scheduling, and resource allocation for tasks within the team and other teams. Mentors other employees and or interns on systems and provide a knowledge base. Contribute to the development of team and department employees.
• Develop documentation including policies & procedures, end-user documentation, installation instructions, network and system design documents, system & programming documentation, and test plans.
• Issue logging, tracking, analysis, reporting and management. Maintains records on repairs, down time, changes and updates
• Implement and maintain change management and control for systems and telecommunications equipment.
• Recommends changes in policies, procedures, maintenance, and system standards.
• May be expected to develop and implement processes to improve quality and increase efficiency. .
• Asset management, business continuity and disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Project planning, plan creation, feature identification, estimations of task level details, updates to plan, and managing to plan as assigned. Updates project goals and plans to meet evolving needs. Manages complex or competing priorities. Ensures that project deliverables are transitioned into day-to-day practices
• Communicates effectively and promotes information sharing between organizational units. Communicates highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel. Knows when to communicate project issues and progress.
• Must be accountable and responsible for working on business critical applications and systems that operate 24/7/365.
• Trains users in the use of technology and systems.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Training:
• 4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience

Business Experience:
• 2 years experience in desktop and networked systems support.

Required Skills:
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
• Working knowledge of PC the installation, repair and preventative maintenance of personal computer and related systems in a corporate network environment.
• Level 2 troubleshooting support experience and ability to identify root causes of complex system and network problems.
• Demonstrate ICARE Shared Principals.
