Description
We are currently seeking a Network Engineer to work in East Hartford, CT. The ideal candidate will monitor complex technical hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques. Provide primary interface with vendor support service groups or provides internal analysis and support to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance. May provide LAN/WAN server support. May function as lead providing guidance and training for less experienced technicians. Fully competent in LAN and WAN Data Networks utilizing TCP/IP protocols. Experience with ISDN BRI, PRI, SW56, T1, fractional T1, SMDS, Frame Relay, dialup, and analog circuits and systems.

Requirements:

Network Engineer who has a high degree of Cisco router knowledge and experience, a thorough knowledge of LAN/WAN topography. This individual will be responsible for Cisco Network Configuration and Documentation, refine the VLAN change process, work with other Network engineers in resolving issues; coordinate with other functional areas such as desktop support, Windows NT, UNIX and Mainframe; act as Network Services staff member supporting all LAN Infrastructures for the company's data network - locations include company's shop floor, offices, classified, non-classified, and test stand environments. Candidate must be proficient in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Cisco LAN switches, help to coordinate projects requiring Network Services estimates, support video conferencing systems.
