Job Title: Network Engineer
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Duration: 6 Months
Start Date: Immediately

Description:

Plans, designs and implements communications networks. Assesses and optimizes network design. Conducts feasibility studies and develops requests for proposals. Designs and develops LAN/WAN infrastructure documentation. Maintains LAN/WAN topology and cabling specifications. Evaluates vendor products and makes recommendations. Responsible for connectivity to external clients or other outside parties. Establishes and maintains good working relationships with vendors.

Roles and Responsibilities:

. Basic Routing and Switching concepts (CCNA level)
. Basic LAN and WAN troubleshooting skills
. Wireless LAN's
. Familiarity with Unix environment
. Ability to follow documented steps and processes
. Ability to identify situations that need escalations
. Microsoft Excel and Visio skills

Skills:

. Intermediate understanding of LoB technology drivers and their impact on architecture design
. Intermediate understanding of performance and monitoring
. Knowledge of more than one specific infrastructure technology
. Intermediate troubleshooting skills
. Technical certifications as required
. Ability to troubleshoot telco circuits

Qualifications:

. Bachelor degree in a Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent highly desirable and/or preferred.
. 3 - 5 years of extensive network design or operational experience within a large enterprise environment, some of it in a multi-platform, distributed environment.
. CCNA Certification or equivalent highly desirable and/or preferred.
