NETWORK ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY:

Primarily responsible for supporting various clients=E2=80=99 network infrastructure, including Windows 2000/2003 servers running Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and various backup software. Must be able to install and configure new servers and network equipment. Wireless networking and site survey experience extremely helpful. We are primarily a Microsoft and Cisco shop, so MCSE and CCNP certifications are strongly preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Formulates, develops, and implements wired and wireless integrated network architectures for small-to-medium computer systems.
2. Analyzes and determines current computer and network systems technology to establish optimum computer and network architecture solutions; recognizes future enhancements and directions for the client=E2=80=99s computer network.
3. Provides support to non-technical staff in the implementation, installation, configuration, and technical support of computer and network architecture.
4. Assists sales staff with technical contract specifications and proposals.
5. Installs, configures, and maintains computer and network operating system; provides on-call support for computer/network systems as required.
6. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE) =E2=80=93 Windows 2000 or later
At least 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES DESIRED:

* Advanced knowledge and understanding of Microsoft networking software and hardware systems and related technologies
* Ability to configure wireless networks and create wireless site survey
* Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
* Ability to analyze and assess computer/network architecture requirements
* Ability to install, configure, and maintain personal computers, networks, and/or related hardware and software
* Computer/network systems planning skills
* Knowledge of computer/network systems infrastructure requirements and standards
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
* Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects
* Ability to learn new technologies quickly
* Familiarity with GPS tracking softwaredf-tc
