Technology driven Charlotte based Shared Services division is seeking a consultant for a position as a member of the Network Infrastructure Services - Network Deployment team. This team is responsible for deploying new network infrastructures, feature requests, and infrastructure upgrades that were designed by the Network Architecture team. The Corporate enterprise network is nationwide and consists of several MPLS enabled privately owned gigabit regional ring infrastructures as well as a network of hundreds of site-to-site VPNs.
* Review, analize, and execute detailed network implementation, validation, and back out plans generated by the Network Architecture team.
* Perform late night and weekend work
* Devise new approaches to solve problems
* Leverage past experience to solve complex network issues.
* Individual must demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature operational judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented problems related to deploying network gear.
* Produce detailed low level IVB (implemenation, validation, and backout) plans for changes that will be implemented on the network
* Configure and test networking equipment in a lab enviourment such as Juniper, Cisco, NetScreen, Foundry, etc appliances prior to production cutover.
* Update architecture and design documents that will be used in the hand off from engineering to operations. Provide support to the Network Operations team during the transition into production and during "burn in" period for new equipment installations/upgrades/changes.
* Ensure that the Network Operations team has sufficient documentation to support the new enviorments.
* This individual will at times lead implementation efforts.
* This team member will report to the Network Infrastructure Services - Supervisor, Network Deployment
Must have the following:
* 6 + years of progressive experience in networking and network security Including VoIP, VPN's, enterprise routing and L3-7 switching
* 6+ years in enterprise network design and implementation3+ years in QOS design and implementation
* 3+ years in BGP and OSPF
* 3+ years in Firewall technologies
* 1+ years in MPLS deployments
* At least one of the following is required: CCNP, JNCIS-FWV, FNCNP, JNCIS Expert level network documentation skills including master skills with MS VisioStrong oral and written skillsStrong leadership skills
* CISSP is preferred- Multiple Juniper, Cisco, NetScreen, Foundry certifications preferred
* Foundry Networks experience
* Cisco Networks experience
* Juniper Networks experience
* NetScreen Firewall experience
* F5 experience
Level 3: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
