Description
Installation and Break Fix: The successful candidate will troubleshoot network outages; contact telephone companies to report link outages; monitor network activity and analyze data to report traffic flows and irregularities; configure, operate, and manage network devices (routers, controllers, gateways); cabling of devices; restore network devices to backup links; assist in the design, development and implementation of new or upgraded network nodes; provide on-call support during weekend hours and holidays. In addition, will answer Help Desk calls and will provide 2nd level support for Help Desk calls.Network Management: The successful candidate will perform data traffic analysis of his / her assigned locations, evaluate performance against Service Level Objectives, determine root cause for performance shortfall and propose solutions to improve service and performance. These service levels include, in part, availability, latency, performance responsiveness, non-business traffic, and application performance anomalies. In addition, the successful candidate will work with tools to perform application network performance modeling and use these tools to analyze application performance changes. The normal work shift for this position is either Sunday through Thursday 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM or Sunday through Thursday 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Person will also be a floater for other shifts, when needed, for vacation relief.df-tc

Experience/Skills
The ideal candidate be CCNA certified; will have a working knowledge of TCP / IP, DLSw; OSPF and BGP routing protocols; adept at Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access; operate and interpret "Sniffer" traces; configure and manage Cisco routers and Ethernet switches, must have working knowledge of LAN / WAN topologies, and WAN protocols (ISDN, frame relay, point-to-point, SDLC, IPSec VPN).
