Description
Great LONG TERM contract for Network Engineers in Bellevue. The person in this position will develop designs, detailed specifications, and documentation for metropolitan area networks (MAN), wide area networks (WAN), network points of presence (POPs), and regional data centers RDCs. This person will also handle a variety of other responsibilities that include VoIP engineering, IP address management, hardware and software testing, and network upgrades. Responsibilities will include:o Work with VoIP deployment team to ensure the product and features integrate seamlessly with the network design. o Assist VoIP operations to troubleshoot and resolve problems. o Work with project managers and backhaul engineers to develop Layer 2 MAN designs for large markets, and Layer 3 designs for internet access and IP transport. o Work with other engineers and technicians to test new hardware, software revisions, and network designs to support the long-term migration toward a nation-wide WiMax network. o Create design specifications and documentation for large scale RDCs, local market POPs, microwave aggregation sites, and various network configurations.o Manage public and internal IP address resources. o Assist management in assessing network readiness at various points in the network deployment process.o Develop and document designs to upgrade existing installations.o Create presentations to effectively convey information to management, other teams within, and outside organizations.o Contribute to the continuous improvement of design practices and network implementation process. o Provide tier-III support to troubleshoot installation problems and outages.Minimum Qualifications (include skills, experience and education):o Five years experience in IP network engineering. o Network certification training (CCNA, CCNP). Four-year degree in electrical or computer engineering preferred. o Familiar with SIP, SBC, media gateways, and other facets of VoIP architecture.o Two or more years of experience implementing VoIP. o Knowledge of OSI model with emphasis on Layer 2.o Thorough Knowledge of IP architecture. o Hands on experience integrating network hardware including routers, switches, power systems, terminal servers, and interfaces for T1, DS3 and SONET. o Advanced knowledge of IP address management including process to obtain addresses and provide reporting to ARIN.
