Description
This role is a network engineer role that will be responsible for managing and administering, under the direction of the Network Manager, key network infrastructure systems including their set-up and configuration according to industry best practices, monitoring of the systems to ensure optimum performance, issue troubleshooting/resolution as they arise, and mentoring of staff. A strong understanding of routing and Pix firewalls is necessary for success in this position; extensive interactive troubleshooting skills are a must. Heavy emphasis is also placed on customer facing soft skills and ability to work in a team and within ITIL processes.

Experience/Skills
You must have 4+ years successful operational experience in troubleshooting problems in a high-pressure production environment with the customer observing the troubleshooting process. Expertise in TCP/IP. Expert in EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP routing protocols as implemented on Cisco routers and L3 capable Catalyst switches is a must. Demonstrable expertise with Cisco IOS and CATOS is desired. The ideal candidate will also have experience in the implementation and troubleshooting of Frame Relay, P-to-P, ATM, and FR-to-ATM inter- networking WAN connections on Cisco routers. Finally,UNIX experience is a plus. Sun Solaris and various Linux OS (Red Hat, SuSe, and Mandrake).
