Experienced Network Engineer

Under general direction, administers and manages LAN/WAN performance and maintains LAN/WAN security. Installs, maintains and monitors the operation of the local area network. Assists in the evaluation of vendor products in hardware and software. Recommends and implements LAN/WAN policies and standards, ensuring adherence to company s policies and procedures.

Essential Functions
Installs and maintains various local area network technology at the server level
Analyzes future needs for growth
Manages LAN/WAN health, security, and network performance
Establishes and implements LAN/WAN policies, procedures and standards, ensuring conformance with best practices
Develops proper network documentation and maintains
Support Backup and Anti-Virus software
End user support with regards to PC and OS support and Microsoft Office
Perform equipment repairs

Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of the utilization, operation, and maintenance of PCs and Servers
Considerable knowledge of Microsoft operating systems including 2000 and 2003
Ability to establish and maintain proper documentation with regards to network function
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, co-workers, and customers

Education and/or Other Requirements
4-5 years of hands-on network administration
Microsoft certifications including Windows 2000/20003 Server
Experience with level one (help desk) and level two support a minimum
Proficient with remote access methodology
Experience with Firewall basics
4-5 years of desktop support including MS Office Suite
