In support of telecommunication's Managed Storage Offers such as E-Mail Archiving, Ultravailable Storage and StoragePlus, the Storage Engineer responsibilities would include but not be limited to ? Engineer and document Data Storage solutions for deployment into telecommunication Internet Data Centers and Client sites for telecommunication Managed Services clients. ? Design and build secure, high capacity, highly available storage infrastructures. ? Authoring of technical documentation, i.e., Technical Service Description TSD, Operations, Administration & Maintenance OA&M Guides, Site Implementation & Installation Guides SIIP. ? Authoring of Operations Readiness Test Plans that demonstrate desired behaviors to be expected from production storage infrastructure traffic flows and fault management detection due to production network failures. ? Development of detailed designs, preparation of technical documentation, e.g remote configuration and testing of the designed infrastructure and on-going Tier 4 technical support ? Direct interaction with product management, suppliers/vendors, and customer engineers to determine technical requirements. ? Provide technical consulting to Installation and Operations staff during facilities deployment, User Acceptance Testing, and day-to-day operations. Desired Educational background ' BS/BA ' Post graduate work or MS Computer Science or Electrical Engineering Required skills or experience ? 3-6 years practicing storage and network engineering field experience ? Expertise with Storage Area Network SAN, Network Attached Storage NAS, and data backup/recovery e.g., EMC SRDF. ? Experience configuring management and monitoring software to monitor network . ? Hands-on experience is required with networking and storage technologies necessary to build secure, high capacity, highly available storage infrastructures. ? Experience performing technical presentations, architectural engineering, and field installation. Other desired skills include ? Vendor certification in Storage Area Network SAN, Network Attached Storage NAS, and data backup/recovery e.g., EMC SRDF is desirable.
