Summary: Willing to work multiple shifts (including nights) and 12 hour schedules.
Knowledge/Work Experience on: Network routers, firewalls, & application servers, IP based application systems, SMS, MMS/7, WAP, iTXT, iTV applications a plus. Knowledge and understanding of Windows XP/2K/Server/NT, BIND/DNS, SMTP, SNPP, SQL queries, SSH, VPN, WAN/LAN, Linux, NOC alarm systems & monitoring tools, is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Manage alerts and events on the SinglePoint messaging network. Ensure that all alerts and events are being handled appropriately, or escalated to appropriate team if not resolved by the NOC. Goal to handle 90% of the alerts within the NOC Ops team
* Manage network to ensure full compliance with all SLA's, contractual obligations, and SinglePoint procedural guidelines.
* Ensure follow-through by SinglePoint or external partners as required.
* Create trouble tickets for network or customer reported problems. Isolate, triage, resolve or escalate troubles as necessary.
* Act as the Technician on duty in the NOC. Serve as the first point of escalation for outages, notifications, escalations or other internal or external customers.
* Host outage and planned works bridges.
* Able to Perform MOP and software upgrades from remote access. Then Perform regression testing, and roll backs if necessary.
* In partnership with Customer Care, serve as a point of contact for high-value customers reporting issues to SinglePoint.
* Assist partners, vendors and customers to identify and isolate problems on their networks as they connect to SinglePoint. Ensure that external issues that affect SinglePoint network are being appropriately escalated and resolved.
* Identify troubles on the SinglePoint network and send notifications to internal and external customers informing them of events on the SinglePoint network. Escalate with external customers or vendors as necessary.
* Ensure quality and consistency with trouble reporting, documentation, and notification.
* Assistance with NOC tool development, Network upgrades and/or testing.

Education/Experience:
Preference for individuals with a "Associates Degree in Computer or Networking Sciences, or significant progress toward a similar degree. Previous NOC and/or customer service experience is desired. MS Server or Linux experience preferred (MS certifications a plus), or combination of education and experience.

* Solid understanding of at least some of the following technology infrastructure including Windows NT, Windows 2000, SQL Server, Solaris, Linux, Oracle, Veritas, firewalls, switches, load balancers, remote support, telecom, SS7.
* Good working knowledge of LAN/WAN networking, communications protocols, configuration and network problem solving. Experience with network management and system administration is a plus.

Language Ability:
Able to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing. Able to translate complex networking situations into readily understandable communication both internally and externally. Ability to read/speak Spanish a plus to help with our international customers, but not required.

Reasoning Ability:
Able to quickly collect data from the network, understand inter-networking dependencies, and resolve network based problems using valid and repeatable processes and procedures. Able to draw correlations from customer or network reported problems to other issues on the network.

Computer Skills:
Basic Office Applications: Word processing, Spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Database software. Mozilla Firefox, Windows Live Messenger, MS Office with "PowerPoint", MS Visio, Trillian

Scheduling:
Able to work a variety of shifts, including swing shift, graveyard shift, weekends and holidays. Employees may occasionally be placed on-call and will be required to work if called.
