Network Performance Engineer


Primary Responsibilities for this role may include:

Responsible for performance management and troubleshooting support of existing network and telecom services. This includes troubleshooting and root cause analysis of issues, security review and recommendation, trend analysis, performance optimization, capacity planning and log / event analysis.
Required to adhere to firm standard policies and procedures and change control processes.
Required to interface with other US IT technologists and teams to provide requirements, develop appropriate procedures, analyze performance data and implement solutions.
Requires a creative self motivated individual with an extensive well rounded technology background. Timely resolution of network and telecom issues for Tampa Data Center and field offices across the US.


Requirements:


At least three plus years of LAN/WAN network and telecom support, performing troubleshooting, trend analysis and capacity planning activities
Demonstrated technical abilities in troubleshooting, problem isolation and resolution in a LAN/WAN environment
Hands-on experience with data communications technologies, including: IP protocols, CISCO routing, and switching
Knowledge of ISDN, Frame Relay, ATM, ssVPN, DSL and other transport technologies
Knowledge of OSPF, IS-IS, BGP
Experience in QA process & procedures within network services
Experience in enterprise system management
A strong understanding of communications circuits, including voice facilities

Ability to identify and resolve network and telecom issues
Thorough understanding of network and telecom services in a large scale environment
Ability to lead and drive troubleshooting efforts
Ability to identify and analyze performance trends
Ability to tune and optimize network and telecom platforms
Ability to develop and deploy operational enhancements
Ability to focus on teamwide initiatives
Strong negotiation and communication skill
Must possess very solid documentation skills

And at least one of the following:
Strong understanding of VOIP technologies including Cisco CallManager & Unity
Strong understanding of two of these: DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, AAA, PIX/Checkpoint Firewalls and TACS
Strong understanding of performance measurement and tuning tools and processdf-tc
