At this time we have an immediate opening leaving us in search of an experienced professional to work in a Network Printing Systems Compliance Engineer role.

Position Objective:
The objective of this position is to work with Product Development Teams (FX, XOG, PSG, etc.) to help them improve their products' compliance. The ideal candidate has significant experience with SNMP & MIBs, printer or network mgmt apps, has experience working on a software development team, is a good negotiator, and is a 'stickler for details'. This person should also have experience in good System Engineering practices and be able to work w/ little or no direct supervision. This position will receive quite a bit of visibility and will require the generation of very accurate product assessments; inaccurate or incomplete product assessments are not acceptable because this data is eventually published to the field.

The work environment here is fast-paced, challenging, and somewhat demanding. We utilize the latest technology to complete our work and we have fun doing it. Essential Functions:
Conduct compliance testing on network products using the Web/Device Manager printer mgmt app
Conduct detailed SNMP-based MIB walks on network products using an internal tool to identify non-compliant MIB implementations
Obtain network traces using a protocol analyzer such as Ethereal to verify the operation of the SNMP protocol on network products
Record results within the for each network product tested
Work with product development teams to help them understand product compliance issues
Recommend updates to the Device Manager scorecard or Incremental Printer-side Compliance document as necessary
Identify any new network product features that need to be managed within the Web application

Potential Side Project Include:
Develop MS Windows-based tools that can automate the testing of MIB objects exposed by printers
Test algorithms that need to be coded will be provided

Experience/Skills

Mandatory Qualifications:
BS degree and/or certification in technical field (i.e. Computer Engineering, Computer Science, MSCE, etc.) preferred
Experience auditing network protocols that help to manage large networked printing devices to ensure that they comply with the predefined standards
A solid fundamental understanding, as well as a wealth of practical experience in utilizing SNMP & MIB network mgmt tools
Solid background within the Microsoft OS environment
Must have excellent problem solving skills
Must have good documentation skills (grammar & spelling errors are unacceptable w/ today's technology)
Willingness to roll-up your sleeves to dig into the analysis of problems found
Works well w/ minimum supervisor
Self-starter
Good interpersonal skills

Other Ideal / Valuable Experiences:
Ability to write desktop applications of moderate complexity in either VB, VB.NET, or C# preferred but not required
SNMP/MIB development experience preferred but not required
Ability to code a user interface and wire up UI events to code
Ability to import and utilize external COM/.NET components in the above mentioned application
Application debugging skills
