IT DEPARTMENT; OPERATIONS; ENTERPRISE AND SECURITY SYSTEMS

PAY: $ CALL OR EMAIL

LEASE TO HIRE 6+MONTHS TO Perm Position --- or ----
CONTRACT; 12 MONTHS

COULD BE PART TIME CONTRACT FOR 2 PEOPLE (6 months)
(2 days a week -- very flexible for the right person or people)


OVERVIEW: Contractor to assist in design, implementation and operations of the City's intrusion prevention and enterprise security management systems; may have to work flexible hours, but normal hours are day-shift

DUTIES: must haves = *

- *On-site training and knowledge transfer on ArcSight ESM and Tippingpoint IPS Systems

- *Provide installation, configuration and upgrade of ArcSight ESM, Tippingpoint and AirMagnet IPS, Imperva application firewall and syslog servers

- *Configure and customize ESM and IPS dashboard and reports

- *Conduct risk-based design reviews and analysis of system functionality, system exposure, and data sensitivity to determine required security controls

- *Perform technical investigations of computer security incidents and coordinate incident response activities; conduct network, host and wireless assessments

ArcSight ESM delivers forensics on the fly, the ability to drill down from an alert to the source events that triggered the alert.
TippingPoint IPS is an in-line device that is inserted seamlessly and transparently into the network. As packets pass through the IPS, they are fully inspected to determine whether they are legitimate or malicious.

DUTIES; WOULD LIKE TO HAVE

- Provide consultation services in risk assessment and management and remediation services
- Provide project management of security programs and security system implementation

REQUIRED SKILLS; must haves = *

- *Expert troubleshooting TCP/IP network & web application problems; Must be able to perform trace and analyze TCP dump
- *Working knowledge of Cisco Network Equipment & Protocols
- *Technical expertise in Microsoft, Unix (Solaris & AIX) and Linux operating systems internals
- *Working knowledge of network security systems such as Checkpoint and Cisco firewall, Tippingpoint and AirMagnet IPS, Foundscan and Nessus scanner, Infoblox DNS/DHCP, RSA ACE, Bluecoat proxy and webfilter, Aventail and Caymas remote access gateway, LDAP, MS Domain Controller, Cisco VPN.

- Working experience in
- Security Operations Center (SOC) & associated procedures
- PCI compliancy assessment and remediation
- Computer forensic investigation with experience in subpoena compliance; experience with forensic tools such as EnCase
- Security tools for vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, wireless assessment and host assessment
- Network and application penetration testing, formulate and implement remediation
- Correlate security events from endpoint devices-- firewalls, proxy, router, switches
- server maintenance, applying service packs, performing system problem determination and utilizing server management utilities
- information security project management
- Communications skills; oral, technical writing, presentation and time management skills
- Problem determinations and can work effectively in emergency and real-time response situations
- Decipher regulations and develop compliancy plans

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS; must haves = *

- *CISSP (active)
- *CISA (active) or equivalent in system auditing
- 4 year BS degree in Computer related field (* for lease-to-hire)
- PMP
- EnCase CE
- MCSE
- CheckPoint SE
