Excellent long-term opportunity for a Network Security Engineer to work with one of our leading clients. Will configure maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure. Apply network engineering principles and techniques to provide hands on support to end users. Qualified candidates should have experience creating and maintaining documentation of processes, network configurations, network diagrams, and working with outsourced vendors to facilitate and achieve successful troubleshooting and implementations. Furthermore, maintain the client s IT Security Environment including setting up and maintaining Network Access control. Generate and maintain platform-specific security baselines, Vendor/Managed Service Provider escalations, IDS and Firewall handling escalations, alert monitoring and health monitoring escalations and problem management escalations.
8+ years experience with LAN/WAN is required along with experience in troubleshooting networks, IP addressing, firewalls and ACLs. M ust have strong working knowledge in telecommunications, including, Cisco Switches and Routers, Cisco PIX Firewalls, TCP/IP, IP Networking, Frame Relay, ATM and Sonnet. Hands on experience with network protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, SNMP, and VLAN Trunking, routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, RIP), network technologies, and LAN technologies (SPT, ARP) is needed. Experience with a variety of standard network applications and tools including monitoring/management and packet capturing utilities Solarwinds and Ethereal is strongly preferred. Working knowledge in Windows/Unix systems administration is a plus B.S. or M.S. degree in computer-related field is desired.
