We are seeking a Network Security Knowledge Engineer to join their team at their corporate office in Boulder, Colorado. This is a research and development position within their device support team. The device support team is responsible for researching log messages produced by network devices, security devices, operating systems, applications, and databases. This research is translated into knowledge incorporated into the their new technology. The Network Security Knowledge Engineer will have the specific responsibility of ensuring the accuracy of log messages as they pertain to network security and audit related issues. This person will also have the responsibility of developing and maintaining advanced correlation rules and working with the engineering team to model attack scenarios. This person will also assist in the design of compliance reports, produce whitepapers, and speak at industry conferences.Qualified candidates will have proven experience in the field of network security, specifically; forensic log analysis, intrusion detection, and vulnerability assessment and mitigation. Candidates will also have experience in IT audit and be familiar with industry compliance requirements such as Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI, and HIPAA.df-tc

Experience/Skills
Required Skills• 5+ years of field experience in the following areas:o IT audito Forensic log analysiso Intrusion detection, prevention, and mitigationo Vulnerability assessment / penetration testing• Experience with logging systems (i.e., Syslog, Windows Event Log)• Experience installing and working with Windows Server operating system• Experience working with Windows SQL Server 2000/2005• An understanding and comfort with Windows Domain security and audit policies• Comfortable installing and configuring *NIX based applications• A strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols and routing• Excellent writing and communication skills• Detail & quality oriented• Public speakingValued Skills• Degree in Computer Information Systems or Network Security• Relevant industry certifications (i.e., CISSP, CISA)• Security Information/Event Management solution experience• General system administration experience• Regular expressions• Start-up experience
