Description
Duties and Tasks:

A. Internet/Network Security & System Administration

1. Assist the Network Administrator with the daily audit, evaluation and patching of software and systems.

2. Correct flaws identified in browsers, operating systems, code, and firewalls to avoid exploits by malicious personnel.

3. Manage the web servers, ensuring they are functional, backed up and the environment is stable and secure.

4. Continuously monitor the network for intrusions and rectify security shortcomings.

5. Actively try to penetrate existing security to expose flaws before they are exploited by malicious personnel or code.

6. Stay abreast of current trends and developments with regard to web security; recommend changes, upgrades, additions to hardware and network operating and communication software.

7. Maintain the e-commerce link between the web site and the Trend system without violating firewall protocol.

8. Provide management with timely reports on security issues.

9. Maintain a web development environment where all modifications can be tested before implementation.

10. Maintain documentation as it relates to disaster recovery plans, network components, software levels, backup and recovery procedures and hardware, network and security configurations.

11. Thoroughly test upgrades to the eSales package and load into production after testing is complete. Keep operating software licenses current and in compliance with corporate contracts and obligations.





B. User Administration

1. Perform user setup, ongoing password, browser and software related support for users in a timely manner.

2. Build software applications to enhance and maintain the technical architecture of the company web site including user interfaces; back end databases, portals and other tools.

Experience/Skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required Knowledge

1. MCSE certification is required; CISSP and CCNA is preferred

2. Solid experience with all aspects of web design

3. Thorough understanding of web security relating to HTML, XHTML, XML/XSL, ODBC, and JavaScript.

4. Comprehensive understanding of network security, PC systems, and communications equipment sufficient to perform the major job duties and tasks

5. Detailed grasp of design principles involved in the creation and maintenance of web based materials

Required Skills:

1. Proficient in a variety of web design and publishing applications

2. Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets to prepare grammatically correct business reports and correspondence with speed and accuracy

3. Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction; meets deadlines and commitments

4. Experienced at prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are fluctuations in workload; changes in assignment; pressures of deadlines; competing requirements; and/or heavy workload

5. Accomplished at performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature

6. Capable of getting information needed to do the job - observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources

7. Skill at evaluating new technology, forecasting technology requirements, and making technical recommendations based on user needs

1. Capable of communicating in a one-on-one basis using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain information, to present information, and/or to explain policies and procedures
